Remarks & Notes
Really lower emissions. San Joaquin Valley Railroad is the sole owner of the Progress Rail class of PR30Bs. In 2012, four of these Tier IV emissions compliant units were produced on the frames of older EMD four-axle units to comply with California emissions standards. These engines have experienced many mechanical problems during their tenure, and can unfortunately be most often found parked. The early morning of Wednesday, July 22, 2020 finds SJVR 3001 (PR30B) sitting in Exeter, California, still Pinter in Rail America colors in spite of the current Genesee & Wyoming ownership.
