Here on July 4th, CN Memphis, TN to Mobile, AL manifest train A48871 is seen crossing the CN/NS diamond in Hattiesburg, MS with an old ATSF Dash 8 on point. CN 2147 was built for the ATSF in April of 1994 as ATSF 824. It only lasted seventeen months with ATSF before the ATSF and BN merger in September of 1995 and became BNSF 824, then was later sold to CN along with the rest of the remaining ex-ATSF Dash 8s (which now make up majority of the CN 2100 series). CN is the last Class One railroad to use GE C40-8Ws, so it’s always fun to shoot these when I can. Still even has the ATSF Leslie RS3L horn.
