Remarks & Notes
Westbound to Knoxville. Southern Railway Consolidation #154 runs westbound along the French Broad River just a few miles east of her home base in Knoxville, TN. She's hauling a local freight through an industrial district, where she's dropping fresh loads and picking up empties. Built in 1890, the 154 is the oldest surviving, operable, Southern Railway Locomotive. In this photo, she's performing for photographers attending a 2011 Historic Transport Preservation (HTP) Charter, hosted by John Craft.
