Picking up empties. In the middle of a large industrial park in the Knoxville suburb of Asbury, Southern 154 and her crew pick up a couple of empty freight cars at the Tennessee Steel Processors complex, before departing westbound.
The 154, which had just emerged from a complete restoration when this image was taken, is normally seen on the Three Rivers Rambler tourist train out of downtown Knoxville. On this particular day however, she was hauling a short freight consist for a Historic Transport Preservation (HTP) photo charter, hosted by John Craft. That's RP.net Administrator Chris Starnes handling the throttle on the 154, under a threatening sky.
