Remarks & Notes |
The departing passengers look eager to board as a westbound Amtrak corridor train pulls into the station at Old Saybrook, CT. Long before high level platforms and such, it was routine for westbound passengers to cross the eastbound track to board their train here. Timetable rules and the operator at Old Saybrook tower insured that they wouldn't be surprised by an oncoming train. The New Haven RR had many other stations on double-track lines with this now unlikely feature. |
