V&T 29 blasts out of Tunnel 4, the Yellow Jacket Tunnel, on its journey back to Virginia City from Gold Hill. Normally the 29 would be handling the weekend Carson City to Virginia City runs, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of the Carson City route runs have been canceled for 2020, leaving the 29 open to handle the normally diesel operated Gold Hill runs. The 29 was originally built in 1916 for the Louisiana and Pacific Railway, it would later be sold in 1977 to the newly reborn Virginia and Truckee tourist railway. The tunnel, one of seven original tunnels on the Virginia and Truckee, would be restored in 1987 for the tourist railroad after nearly 50 years of abandonment.
