While working west on our trip we stopped by the roundhouse at Huron. Huron has been the base for operations for many years for the railroads that have owned this railroad across South Dakota. Now days orange SD40's are found for this Genesee & Wyoming company. The 2 SD40's sitting on the left stub track (3483/3464) were involved in a bad washout wreck at New Underwood back in August that send the crew to the hospital. The 3459, also involved in the washout, is in the shop getting fixed. The 3483 on the stub track sounds like its going to be scraped?
