A westbound BNSF Railway manifest has arrived in McCook late in the afternoon after traveling on the Hastings Subdivision, and has tied down in the yard. McCook is the Division Point between the railway’s Nebraska Division (the Hastings Sub) and Colorado Division (the Akron Sub), as well as the point at which the railroad changes from Central Time to Mountain Time. The power on this train – BNSF Dash 8-40B 8610 (ex-ATSF 7420) and GP39-2R 2751 (ex-BN GP39E 2751, ex-NS GP30 2585, nee-SOU GP30 2585) – will be cut off and serviced, and will still be in McCook four days later. (McCook, Nebraska – May 8, 2013).
