Remarks & Notes |
In 1985, these were two of the main exhibits of the Nürnberg Transport Museum. The class 05 streamlined steam locomotive was built in 1935-1937. One of them (the 05 002) broke the world speed record for steam locomotives with 200 kph (125 mph) in 1936. The E19 12 electric locomotive was built in 1938. The development of these locomotives was stopped by World War II and not resumed after the war. Originally the front of the locomotive was decorated with an aluminum Nazi eagle holding a swastika. On the E19 12, the swastika has been removed. Both locomotives are wearing a very nice dark red livery. |
