Remarks & Notes
"Reinstalling the Panel at Penn" Alstom workers reinstall a nose panel on one of the Alstom Avelia Liberty (Acela 21) power cars that was temporarily removed for a test before continuing east from New York's Pennsylvania Station. The trainset made it's first run to New York City on the night of September 24th, 2020 while heading towards GATE Interlocking in Queens on the Northeast Corridor. GATE Interlocking is where the overhead electric catenary system changes from 12kV/25Hz to 12.5kV/60Hz. This test run was to ensure the onboard systems on the powercars seamlessly changed over between the two systems.
