Remarks & Notes

This is the shape of things to come on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor between Washington and Boston, as their new Alstom Avelia Liberty trainset makes an appearance east of New York City for the first time. In the testing phase now, the Avelia Liberties are slated to enter service in 2021, with a goal of replacing the current 20-year-old Acela equipment by the end of 2022.
