Reading & Northern's weekend fall foliage trains run from North Reading's Outer Station to Jim Thorpe, with a four-hour layover in Jim Thorpe to allow passengers to enjoy the sights, or even take advantage of the hourly Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway trains. Here, the foliage train's two RDCs lay over at the Jim Thorpe station, waiting for their 3:30 p.m. return to North Reading. 9166 was built for the Boston & Maine and served with Reading and SEPTA before arriving at the R&N. It has a snack counter in addition to a normal coach section. Its companion, 9168, was built for New York Central and has a full coach configuration.
