Remarks & Notes |
Southbound 214 rolls by what’s left of the “Right of Way” silver mine in Cobalt, so named so because of its proximity to the railway. This area is famous for its rich silver mining history and the town is named after what was commonly found as a byproduct in the silver ores. Though cobalt never had a use during the days of heavy silver mining, in today’s times it’s used in batteries and other electronics which had led to a renewal in investment interest in the area. Any new developments would certainly be welcome news for the ONR. |
