Moving back home. On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, former Washington DC Capital Transit PCC 1470, was moved to the National Capital Trolley Museum from the Virginia Museum of Transportation. Today, Saturday, October 17, 2020, it was reunited with car 1101 in the museum shop, the first time in around 60 years that it has been around another DC streetcar. When streetcar service in DC ended in 1962, the president of DC Transit, O. Roy Chalk, donated a number of cars to museums in the area. Car 1470 lived at VMOT on static display since 1964, and is now joining an operating collection at the NCTM.
The car is pictured at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia on November 19, 2017.
