Remarks & Notes |
Despite not being a fan of shooting light power and going away shots, I still opted for this photo. The Housatonic power constantly gets shuffled around and I didn’t know when I would be back up here. My plan for the day was to chase Housatonic train NX-13 with ex-Bangor & Aroostook GP7u leading on the southbound trip from Pittsfield. However, these plans were foiled as the NX-13 crew spent the entire Sunday afternoon in Pittsfield yard waiting for CSX trains Q424 and Q425 to do their work. It would be dark by the time NX-13 departed for Canaan. The power is seen passing Lenox station as they will stop to pick up a pair of leased GMTX GP38-2s to take to Pittsfield. 22 was originally built as a high hood GP7 in 1952 for the Santa Fe and was rebuilt in 1981 with a chopped nose and angled "Topeka" cab. |
