DMIR 310, a rebuilt SD18 classified by Missabe as an SD-M, gets a new lease on life at the elevator complex in Pierre, SD, handling switching chores as needed. Pierre is served by the Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern Railroad. No. 310 started life as DMIR 183, an SD18, built in April 1960. It was part of the final order of SDs that replaced remaining Yellowstones and other steam still operating on the Missabe in early 1960.
