New "Capricorn" trainset (RTZ = Regional Trieb Zug) ABe 4/16 # 3113 of the Rhaetian Railway is on a driver training run through the Engadine, from Samedan to Scuol-Tarasp and back. The train left Susch shortly and is entering the 128 meter long Valauta tunnel. The RhB ordered 56 of this new train with automatic couplers, 1600 kW and 120 km/h maximum velocity from StadlerRail, more then 10 are delivered and some are in timetabled passenger service already. The train has 35 first class and 137 second class seats and space for luggage, bycicles, skis, strollers and wheelchairs. Regular service will start with the line from Landquart via Küblis to Klosters, where the train will be split into a part for Davos and another part via Vereina-Zernez to St.Moritz. Between Landquart and Klosters and vice versa, up to 4 "Capricorn" trainsets will be coupled together to form a more then 300 meter long train.
