BN F3A no. 9732 was one of a number of F units that operated out of Auburn, WA on transfer and area road freights after the 1970 BN merger. This lasted until about 1980 when a slowing economy gave BN the opportunity to shed early EMD power including most F units, as well as early GP7s and SD7s. Alco power also became a victim.
