On November 14, 2020, Canadian National 6167,owned by Guelph Museums, moved from it's home by the Guelph Central GO station to John Galt Park, named after the founder of Guelph, John Galt.
This move was needed to make way for the expansion of the GO train station. All told the city of Guelph will have likely spent close to 1 million on this move, while a lot, the preservation of this magnificent engine continues and it's new location is a visible, important part of Guelph's history, certainly a fitting spot for this engine.
To the right of 6167 is Allan's Bridge, the CN/Metrolinx Guelph Sub and the tracks behind the locomotive are the city owned Guelph Junction Railway. 6167 was moving backward toward the tracks where it will sit beside the GJR.
