Solar Panel Sunset. Maryland Midland Railway's UBHF worked to sunset and beyond on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. After making a trip and a half to Higfield, Pennsylvania, the crew returned to Union Bridge, Maryland and delivered a large cut of cars to Lehigh Cement. SD40-2 3448 leads an unusually un-unifom consist of York Rail GP16 1600 and MMID GP38-3 2060 and SD40-2 3451. Lehigh Cement is minority owner of MMID along with major owner Genesee and Wyoming. A true story of shortline success, MMID started with a few hundred annual carloads in the early 1980s and has grown to become a very busy operation.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
