Empty Key-train CSX K442-26 (Lawrenceville,GA-Chicago,IL/CP) emerges out of the north portal of the Chetoogeta Mountain Tunnel in Tunnel Hill, GA (MP WA-106.7 SE Tunnel Hill) on the Western & Atlantic Sub. With no meets planned the 6100ft long unit train will quietly run north for Wauhatchie for a crew swap. CSXT Nº 8536 is one of five SD50 series that is still on the active roster for now. In the height of the PSR-Purge the large majority of the 8500, 8600, and 2400 series SD50s got the axe and were retired which isn’t surprising at all coming from “them folks” out of Jacksonville.
