Still displaying its “Texas Zephyr” lettering, Colorado & Southern EMD E5 No. 9952-A powers a passenger special at the Illinois Railroad Museum at Union, Illinois, in September 1984. In more recent times, the classy locomotive has been restored to its original Chicago, Burlington & Quincy number of 9911-A and wears black nose stripes. I’m sure glad one of these was saved!
