Remarks & Notes |
Unusual service of the dual power electro/diesel locomotive Gem 4/4 # 802 "Marmotte" in diesel mode on the main network of the Rhaetian Railway. On this day the Engadin Ski Marathon took place (The Engadin Skimarathon is a cross country skiing event over the marathon distance of 42 km from Maloja to S-chanf), which always generates a lot of traffic on the Rhaetian Railway. For example, all runners have to be transported back from the finish line near S-chanf in the St. Moritz/Maloja area after the race. Of course there are also many spectators and supporters on the way. But unfortunately there was a catenary failure in the morning in the S-chanf area and for some time no trains were running at all. So the diesel locomotive # 802 pulled a stuck train back towards the Upper Engadine. Behind the locomotive, 4 short 2nd class standard coaches of type I can be seen, followed by a driving trailer BDt of a shuttle train with the Ge 4/4 I # 610 "Viamala" at the end of the train. |
