Remarks & Notes
A few scenes of the movie Godzilla were filmed on Vancouver Island and the Southern Railway of Vancouver Island had an important role in it. In the movie, SRY 128 plays the part of WestmountRail #128 and hauls a three car train with 2 of the cars carrying missiles in an attempt to stop the monster. Here we see WestmountRail #128 running around the train at Malahat Siding preparing to move to the filming location a few miles south of here. This part of the railway is out of service with the last freight running in 2010 and passenger service ending in 2011.
