Booming Benson. The Amtrak Sunset Limited (Train 1) passes over East 4th Street in Benson, Arizona on the evening of Wednesday, July 19, 2020 with former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/sleeper 313 (WEBX 801044) and former New York Central Railroad Budd built Pullman obs/diner/sleeper "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) holding the markers. The City Of Benson cites 1941 as a pivotal year in the expansion of the city, in that it emerged as a "highway city". Benson's location near newly completed exits and overpasses making it a rest stop in the desert for travelers.
