Remarks & Notes

"Would've Saved Time If You Just Waited"

PO-74 was picking up its train for the trip down the Pocono Main at Ridge Row. While stopped so the conductor could make the cut at the rear of the train, a truck driver thought it would be a good idea to try and go around PO-74 which was completely fouling the crossing. Due to the snow from the previous days winter storm, the truck driver foolishly thought he had enough room to clear PO-74. He didn't and ended up going off the road and getting his truck stuck between the rails and having the side of his truck slightly brush against the coupler knuckle of #1804. Fortunately for the truck driver there was no damage and a construction vehicle on the opposite side of the tracks to pull him out. If this guy would have just waited, this 20 minute ordeal would've just been less than 5 minutes of just waiting for the train to get on the pull and clear. Lesson Learned, hopefully.

Don Colangelo, retired CMO (and sometimes piano player) at the DL Scranton shops cared for the many ALCOs, MLWs and a few EMDs that passed in and out of South Scranton and Von Storch shop doors. Here is a look and many of those units.
