Remarks & Notes |
A lucky shot of an entirely uniform MD-trainset in XMPR livery. It gets ever harder to catch one without any new gray-blue-yellow 'DPR' cars. Shown here is an afternoon Trieste Centrale-Venezia Santa Lucia interregio just leaving behind Barcola as it starts the climb to Monfalcone. If you look carefully you'll spot the departing silhouette of maybe the most beautiful ship of the world: the Amerigo Vespucci. Built in end of the 1920s, it is by origin a training ship in the Italian Navy serving cadets since 1931. Sailing from it's home port of La Spezia it has been around the world, coming to Trieste as a guest for the 51. sailing Regatta Barcolana. |
