One of MÁV's heritage M41s leaves Tapolca with four Bhv cars in fitting livery. Just right of the loco is 424 247 taking on water for the run home, although it'll be hauled by a diesel to Budapest coupled to it's service car seen on the left. The state railway company - MÁV-Start- started to run two pairs of regular trains with historic power back in the summer of 2017 at lake Balaton's norther route. It developed to two full-on 'retro-weekends' for the 2019 and 2020 seasons featuring M40s (from the once 100 piece fleet today only 6 are in active service, half of it at MÁV-Nostalgia's historic fleet and the other half at MÁV's depos as yard reserves), M41s in old liveries, M62s in period- and original liveries (M62s doesn't haul passenger trains regularly), M61s (withdrawn almost 20 years ago) and 424 247: a 4-8-0 steamer recently put back to service.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
