"Few trains for such a station"
Portbou station, whose current configuration dates back to 1929, has suffered the gradual loss of rail traffic despite its position on the border with France. Only 4% of the goods that move in Spain do so by rail. International passenger traffic runs on the new high-speed line, which connects with France through the Pertús tunnel, about 25 km to the west. And finally, Covid-19 has drastically decreased the demand for regional passenger transport.
