Remarks & Notes

Nestled in the Rocky Mountains along the St. Joe River, the scene of the Milwaukee Road at Avery Idaho during its last full year of operation. The substation has ceased generating electricity since the electrification was shut down in 1974 between here and Harlowton MT. Several of the yard tracks have been torn up or are in a sad state of disrepair and the mainline is really showing a lack of maintenance. A crane stands ready on an adjacent track.
