Steam at Rockville
In the sixty-plus years since the Pennsylvania Railroad dropped its fires, only abut five occasions come to mind when steam once again ran on the Great Broad Way. One was in 1985, when George Hart’s ex-Canadian Pacific 4-6-0 972 was relettered for the Cumberland Valley Railroad and ran several excursions in honor of the sesquicentennial of the 1835 CV charter. Here the train is off of the CV at Rockville, Pennsylvania where the train could be turned on the wye that surrounded the iconic PRR Rockville Tower.
