Remarks & Notes |
Engineer Jim Olson give a friendly wave as train Nº100 exits the west portal of the 1858 built Whiteside Tunnel. The 1:30pm schedule Missionary Ridge Local is coasting down grade for East Chattanooga with Nº 606 in charge a former Milwaukee Road SW1200. The first car on the train is a familiar face in this area. ex: Central Of Georgia 390 is Combine car built in 1947 for the Nancy Hank II, or better known as the audio car for fans usage during the Southern, and Norfolk Southern Rwy Steam excursion. After the end of the excursion years in the 90s the 390 was purchased by the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad til it was acquired by the Tennessee Valley Railroad in late 2019. Honestly the 390 fit right at home seeing that the Central of Georgia had a presence here in Chattanooga. |
