| Faido was a very special place for railway enthusiasts who took photographs. The route runs in an elegant S-curve through the town. Run-down hotels are reminiscent of the time when the road was not yet fully developed and many people passing through turned to overnight accommodation. Today the road traffic rushes by on the N2 motorway, the trains run deep down in the mountain in the 57 km long Gotthard Base Tunnel. |
