This Reading Company freight station predates the 1892 train station in Perkasie, PA. It was, in fact, the original overcrowded wooden station which was later moved across the tracks in 1892 when it became the freight depot. I'm glad the township saw it wise to preserve yet another piece of its history - a remembrance of another time and to some degree - place; Parts of 1900's Perkasie live on. The track has since been covered up, stranding the rather modern box car in place - no doubt put to use for storage.
