| In somewhat odd circumstances today....the Iowa Northern helped out the CRANDIC Railroad to plow open their Amana Line so the IAIS could get service back between Cedar Rapids and South Amana. With stories of drifts as high as the engines, the Iowa Interstate had not run to Cedar Rapids for 2 days. The CIC needed a solution to punch a hole thru it, so the IANR brought down their Jordan to do the job. Unfortunately by the time they got going south out of Fairfax it was sunset and this was the only shot I got in the gleaming light. I didn't stick around to see how high the snow really was either. Here the job pumps air so winging can begin couple miles south of Fairfax. |
