Remarks & Notes
Among Cuba's most precious operable locomotives in 1996 was this 30-inch gauge Baldwin 0-6-0 built in 1882. The locomotive has been built for this area as Ingenio Santa Lucia #1 and was nicknamed "La Mambisa". A "Mambiso" was a peasant of the 1800's who fought against Spanish colonial troops , often with only his machete.
