BNSF shoving platform BN 12568, wearing a neatly applied if unauthorized graffiti scheme (complete with clear and legible reporting mark and roadnumber), brings up the rear of local R-CAL0162-28 as it heads west on the railway’s San Bernardino Sub. This car was built by Pacific Car & Foundry in July 1973 as Burlington Northern wide-vision caboose 10769, which was rebuilt and renumbered BN 12568 in October 1990. This car has neatly applied (but still illegal) graffiti on each side, with each side painted very differently. This side has the word Amtrak, along with a rendering of Professor Frink from "The Simpsons." (Placentia, California – April 28, 2021). Click HERE to see the other side of this caboose.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
