Running deep in the valley of the Mur river along Austria's Rudolfsbahn line on its way from Mürzzuschlag to Friesach, a recently refurbished EMU will soon reach Unzmarkt, with the ruined Frauenburg [Women's Castle] and its sole intact part, the church St. Jakob towering over it. This bihourly train run is interesting because it connects two rapid transit services in Styria state (S9 and S8, breaking at Bruck an der Mur) and a regional (R) service across the Styria/Carinthia state line (with the S8/R breaking point at Unzmarkt), thus the train's service type designation changes two times while the train number remains the same.
