1961 built EMD streamliner S313 is seen at Melbourne's Southern Cross Station, shortly before running a solo trip to Seymour for her 60th birthday. Hood unit T356 had led the train in from Newport Workshops, as the S class' No.2 end hostlers cab is not permitted to lead on the mainline except for short shunting moves. The T class was left in Dudley Street yard ready to assist again after the tour. This was Steamrail Victoria's first trip since before the Covid-19 pandemic began a year earlier.
