"Sperry Inspection at NYP"
Sperry Rail Detection Car 146 holds for permission into "KN" Interlocking after completing rail inspections on Track 21 in New York Pennsylvania Station. Sperry Rail Detection Cars are small self-propelled diesel rail cars equipped with patented mobile semi-automated ultrasonic inspection equipment used to find flaws within the rails on railroad tracks. These inspections are conducted in order to catch rail defects that could potentially lead to track structure failures.
*Note that there is a full partition between the Sperry operator and the Amtrak pilot, allowing them to remain socially distant during testing.
