Remarks & Notes |
A Westbound BNSF Grain train is seen passing through the John F. Stevens Canyon at Ken Good Curve. The canyon was named for the man who surveyed the land in 1889 for James J. Hill to build the Great Northern Railroad. The curve is colloquially known as Ken Good curve for the forest service employee who cut the brush to open this vista up. The Middle Fork of the Flathead River is seen running through the canyon The distinct blue-green waters of this river are caused by the "rock-flower" which is glacial silt. |
