CNW 1278 was always a favorite switch engine to see around Eau Claire and Altoona in the 1960's and early 1970's. Usually it was parked between runs at Eau Claire, but one of its chores was to handle transfers to Altoona and back. It also would be serviced in Altoona. Along with the 1280 & 1281, SW600s, it would occasionally handle road locals to places like Mondovi, WI.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
