"CDOT's P40s, Before & After"
Freshly rebuilt CTrail (CTDX) GE P40BH 6711 idles in New Haven Yard after a day of testing. Sitting next to the test set is unrebuilt P40DC 836, which has aquired the name "Patches" due to its harsh appearance. The 836 continues to power CTrail trains daily as it awaits its turn for rebuild.
6711 (ex-CTDX 4803, exx-NJTR 4803, exxx-AMTK 820) is the first of Connecticut DOT's fleet of 12 GE P40DCs to receive a complete rebuild by Amtrak's Beech Grove Shops in Indiana.
