Remarks & Notes
On what was a well-trafficked line back in Seaboard Air Line days, just a handful of cars trail the three diesels on the six-days-a-week Columbus turn. In a couple years CSX will sell the line to Georgia Southwestern. A few years later, it will be out of service. It couldn't have helped that parallel US280 - for many years a twisty two-lane - was rebuilt to almost Interstate standards in the 1980s.
