Now there is another gem of a beautifully refurbished operational steam locomotive in Switzerland, the E 3/3 # 41 of the former Schweizerische Centralbahn (SCB), built in 1901 by SLM Winterthur as type F3 and it was the last delivered steamlocomotive for the SCB (before the confluence with the SBB). From 1902 the locomotive was used as E 3/3 # 8410 by the SBB till 1941. Then it was shunting locomotive # 3 in the von Moos steal works in Emmenbrücke till 1972. Afterwards privately owned and stabled at difference places in the Zürich region. The 0-6-0 T belongs to the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Lucerne (VHS, Swiss Museum of Transport, Lucerne) today, fund raiser Pascal Troller organized the financing (contributions from cantonal monument preservation offices, foundations, private individuals etc.) and the order went to the Landquart workshop of the Rhaetian Railway, the boiler was repaired by Demian Soder. The locomotive had already been completed in 2019. Now the commissioning work was carried out by members of the Balsthal steam group together with the specialists of the RhB, and on April 30, 2021, the locomotive covered the first meters under its own power after nearly 50 years. On the same day, a trip with trailer load from Balsthal to Oensingen and back was successfully carried out. It is not yet decided where the locomotive will be used. According to promises made to various major donors, SCB 41 is to be seen in its former home cantons of Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Solothurn, Bern and Lucerne.
