| The 4-6-2 "Pacific" express train steamlocomotive 01 # 202 of the association "Pacific 01 202" in Lyss in on a test run through the gorge of the Areuse between Travers and Les Verrières. The train is leaving the 277 meter long St-Sulpice tunnel in a grade of 2.4 %. This is the international line from Neuchâtel to Pontarlier and Frasne, were 3 passenger trains a day were running then in each direction. The locomotive was built by Henschel/Kassel/Germany in 1936 for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Withdrawn in 1975 by the Deutsche Bundesbahn and brought to Switzerland. Since 1991 operational and owned and operated by association "Pacific 01 202". |
