Remarks & Notes
Bright At Belden. The former Montclair Railway/New York and Oswego Midland Railroad Pompton–Riverdale station in Riverdale, New Jersey was constructed in 1873. Soon after, the operation was assumed by the New York & Greenwood Lake Railway as aa subsidiary of the Erie Railroad, and later Erie Lackawanna. After the 1963 re-alignment downgraded service here to a shuttle, the handwriting was on the wall and passenger service ended for good on September 30, 1966. Today, the Pompton Branch is part of the New York, Susquehanna, and Western Railway, who serves Belden Tri-State Building Materials with this yard. On the early morning of Thursday, May 20, 2021, NYSW WS-4 pauses for a moment by the deport with CSXT 2722 (ex-CR 8055, née-PC 8055, GP38-2) leading.
