Frota C was manufactured between 1979 and 1986 by the consortium composed by the companies Francorail, Société MTE, JS, BBC, TCO and Cobrasma, at the latter's factory, located in the municipality of Sumaré (today Hortolândia).
Between 2011 and 2014, this fleet was renovated by the MTTrens consortium, composed of the companies Grupo MPE, Temoinsa and TTrans, in the municipality of Três Rios, forming the current K Fleet.
Currently, all trains in this fleet operate on Line 3 - Red, the same line as the former Fleet C. Symbolized on the front, a mask against the COVID-19
