Spring thunderstorms hover about the mountain slopes as SP 8703, C&NW 6933 and D&RGW 5410 handle symbol AHNOA-23 through Kobe, CO in the waning days of service across the Tennessee Pass route. This Herington, KS to Oakland, CA train came across the traditional feeder for the Tennessee Pass route - the former MoPac line across Kansas and eastern Colorado to Pueblo, itself abandoned with the elimination of this line as a through route. Kobe is about 17 miles east of Tennessee Pass.
