Thin clouds flow through the darkening sky as a waxing moon makes a showing over Canadian National’s main line at Swan Landing, Alberta. Brilliant colors of sunset have disappeared, with the scenery now taking on azure tone of the blue hour. The lights illuminating the small yard there, along with red signals, are the only sign of humankind. It’s a few minutes before 10 p.m. as an eastbound freight shatters the quiet along the shore of Brule Lake as it departs Swan Landing on August 9, 2016.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
